If you are
on regular medication your Doctor may authorise you to have repeat
prescriptions. These are processed on our computer system and then all
prescriptions have to be authorised and signed by a GP.
With each
new prescription you will have a tear off slip to keep. This lists medication
that you are able to have on repeat. the number of repeats that you are allowed
is decided by your Doctor and will need to be re-authorised when the maximum is
reached. You may be asked to see your Doctor to enable further authorisation.
To make a
repeat request tick off the items you require on the tear off slip and either
put it in the repeat prescription box on the reception desk or send it by post
to the surgery - marking the envelope

We endeavour to have prescriptions ready for collection in 24
hours but this is not always possible at peak times and holidays.
You can collect your prescription at our reception or if you
enclose a stamped addressed envelope we will mail it to you.
Some Chemists have a collection system and if you are part of this
system then clearly mark the tear off request with the chemist of your choice.
Ask the dispenser for details of this collection service.
N.B. We do not accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions,
this is for security and safety reasons
We
are currently developing an online repeat request system and this should be
functional soon - it will be better to use this system rather than simply
Emailing. You must be aware that currently online and Email requests are not
encrypted and if you have any concerns about this do not use it.
If any
patient wishes to discuss any part of this policy with the Practice Manager
please telephone Janet Newman, Practice Manager on 01491 821760.
