It is the Government’s
intention to close practice dispensaries in all but the most rural of
practices. This would mean that our dispensary here at Wallingford could
close as early as 1st April next year.
We believe we offer an
invaluable service to our dispensing patients and wish to continue to
provide you with this service.
We have recently
introduced a free delivery service as an added service for our patients who
find it hard to get to the surgery to order and pick up their repeat
medication.
Once again this
withdrawal of a service will hit the elderly and most rural patients the
hardest, just like the closure of rural post offices.
You, as our patients,
can help us to save the dispensary and stop this further diminution of
services for rural, elderly and patients without transport.
We would urge all
patients to write to the local MP in support of dispensing services
