Wallingford Medical Practice has been involved in training future general practitioners for many years. Dr Walker, Dr Morris, Dr Arnold and Dr Henry are all current GP trainers, which means they supervise fully qualified doctors who are in their final years of training to become GPs, having already spent time working in hospitals.
Students
We are also involved in the teaching of medical students from the University of Oxford. These students come to us at various points in their training to learn more about the primary health care team and the role of the GP. Sometimes this means we will have a student sitting in surgery with us. You may be asked if you are happy for a student to sit in your consultation. They (and we) will not be offended at all if you would prefer this not to happen. Please indicate this to the receptionist and we will ask the student to leave the room.
