It is proposed that services at Wallingford First Aid Unit (FAU) will move from their present base in Wallingford Community Hospital into Wallingford Medical Practice, which is located in an adjacent building on the same site.

The FAU, which is currently run by Oxford Health Foundation Trust, will remain open as now - 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday – in line with the GP practice and treatment will be provided by our practice clinical staff.

Patients will continue to access the service via an appointment through NHS 111 or through a GP, but don’t need to be registered as Wallingford patients, so visitors to the area will still be welcome to use it. Some walk-in visits will be available within strict COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The proposed move is in line with NHS plans around urgent care to ensure Oxfordshire can continue to provide these services.

Giving appointment times will benefit patients and the service. For example, clinical staff will be able to access more information to support patient care and a wider range of medical support will also be available to them.

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Wallingford Medical Practice are keen to hear the views of patients and other stakeholders so we can respond to any concerns, before the change of location at the beginning of November 2020.
